Kingdom of Florida fiction podcast Treasure Hunters, arriving Fall 2025
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA, September 10, 2025 - On Wednesday, Florida author Taylor Thomas Smythe announced Treasure Hunters, a forthcoming fiction podcast set in the world of his award-winning Kingdom of Florida fantasy series for young readers. The scripted audio adventure consists of five episodes, which will be released weekly on all major podcast platforms this Fall 2025. A brief teaser is available now.
Treasure Hunters: A Kingdom of Florida Adventure is framed as a first-person entry in the fictional journal of Jesse Haywood—a character who debuted in the original Kingdom of Florida novels—and introduces listeners to a slew of new and familiar characters. The series will also include music and a rich soundscape to immerse listeners in the swashbuckling original story. The voice cast has not yet been announced.

The first installment in Smythe’s seven-book Kingdom of Florida middle-grade fantasy series—The Golden Alligator—was chosen as the 2021 winner of a silver medal in the Florida Authors and Publishers Association President's Book Awards and as a finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards. In 2023, the Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards) named Smythe’s Goldie: A Magic City Wonders Novel the winner of the gold medal in the Southeast - Best Regional Fiction category. Goldie also received a silver medal in the Florida Book Awards.
